C146 - Major Themes in Literature

Correspondence
Comparative analysis of themes and motifs that reappear in literature from different periods and cultures. Theme for "The Naked City" is images of the city in literature. Presented in four units: biblical views of the city; the "polis" in Greek drama; novels of the city; and images of the city in nineteenth- and twentieth-century poetry.
