The general studies degree is available through any of the Indiana University campuses. You can complete the degree by taking online courses, campus-based courses, or a combination of online and campus-based courses.
Maybe you already have an associate degree; maybe you’ve taken a lot of courses in the past and just don’t know how to pull them all together into one degree program; maybe you have military or professional experiences. General studies gives you a variety of options for earning credit toward your degree.
In addition to academic course work, you may be able to earn
To graduate with a Bachelor of General Studies, you must earn a minimum of 120 semester hours of credit. You pursue an multidisciplinary plan of study that encompasses three areas of learning:
You complete required course work in these areas. In addition, you complete electives that suit your individual needs, and you may concentrate your course work in specialized fields. You may also apply credits from a variety of online certificate programs. Be sure to check with your advisor to determine how credits will apply.
