Commercial student loans are available for full-time, half-time, and less-than-half-time students and to students not enrolled in degree programs.

Many companies and organizations offer scholarships. Visit your local library and look for books on scholarships, or call civic groups in your community and ask about their scholarship programs.
Undergraduate Courses
Important: Fee courtesy for undergraduate School of Continuing Studies courses will be treated as a reimbursement once the student has paid all tuition and fees and has completed the course.
The following categories of individuals associated with Indiana University are eligible for the fee courtesy benefit:
- appointed full-time (100 percent) faculty and staff employed by the end of the first week of the semester or session
- appointed full-time (100 percent) faculty and staff on an approved leave of absence
- individuals with IU retiree status
- disabled former employees receiving long-term disability benefits from a university-sponsored plan, Social Security Administration, or PERF
- the spouse, registered domestic partner, and dependent children of an individual in any of these categories

The fee courtesy value is 100 percent of covered tuition up to a benefit amount per semester based on the Indiana resident per credit hour rates at each campus, and, in the cases of employees, on class standing (undergraduate, graduate, or professional).
Plan provisions for the dependent child of an eligible individual.
A dependent child is defined as
- a child, stepchild, or a child whose legal guardian is an eligible individual
- a child of a deceased parent or legal guardian who was an eligible employee at the time of death (provided the child was a legal dependent at the time of the parent or guardian's death), and on the first day of the session: is under 24 years of age for which fee courtesy is being sought, is unmarried, and meets the IRS support test as a dependent of the employee, spouse, or registered same-sex partner.
The fee courtesy value is a subsidy of 50 percent of the Indiana resident undergraduate rate, for a maximum of the first 140 credit hours (which includes transfer hours) or the first baccalaureate degree.

High School Courses
To attract and keep good employees, many companies include tuition reimbursement in their compensation packages. Most companies pay for a percentage of all educational expenses they deem appropriate. Some companies pay for your courses up front. Other companies require you to pay up front but then reimburse you after you finish a course. If your employer is going to pay your fees, include an official authorization for billing with your enrollment form.
